Splatoon 2 gets a new weapon and stage tonight

Splatoon 2 is getting its first new stage tonight alongside a returning weapon from the original game.

The Sloshing Machine is making its return from the first Splatoon, and is, as you might surmise, a small washing machine that hurls ink all over the place. This one operates somewhat like a mortar, firing out a glob of ink that will burst if it comes into contact with another squid or the ground. It's not a completely new weapon, per se, but it's good to have more options.

The Sloshing Machine uses the Autobomb for its secondary weapon, and will give you access to the Sting Ray special.

The new map is the more exciting news here, even if it had already been revealed. The brilliantly named Manta Maria is set across a ship, as many great past multiplayer shooter maps have been.

Both new additions should be live by 7 PM PT/10 PM ET, which means that later tonight you'll be able to buy a new weapon and test it out on a new level. Stay fresh/stay off the hook.
