PS4 and Xbox One Smite players are getting close to being able to check out Smite in 60fps.

Smite developer Hi-Rez teased everyone two weeks ago about an upcoming 60 frames-per-second option. The new feature would give players on PlayStation 4 and Xbox one the ability to double their frame-rate, up from the current 30fps.

Scott Lussier, the same designer who first revealed the addition, confirmed that it's going to be part of the new patch. The patch doesn't have a date yet, as the studio will submit it for testing today.

Lussier also said it will be an opt-in feature, as a "safety precaution."
