Project Phoenix Kickstarter trebles its funding in a day

Project Phoenix only needed $100,000 to meet its Kickstarter funding goal, but at the time of writing backers have more than trebled that figure.

Right now, the Project Phoenix Kickstarter page shows that the JRPG has raised $365,638
of its $100,000 goal.

Developer Creative Intelligent Arts has now confirmed that a PayPal funding option will be up and running shortly, and that the game's first stretch goal has been met, namely, that the amount of in-game monsters has been doubled and that Final Fantasy legend Nobou Uematsu will write an extended musical score.

The next stretch goal sits at $650,000, and it will add a more detailed city system into the game, along with customisable character creation.

Project Phoenix looks like a huge undertaking that draws in talent from the Final Fantasy franchise, Halo 4, Crysis 3, Soul Calibur 5 and more. Check out our initial report for more details and stay tuned for an interview with the studio here on VG247 soon.

What do you think of the game so far?

Project Phoenix is coming to Windows, Mac and Linux in mid-2015. It's also coming to Android, iOS and - maybe - PS4.
