The next Modern Warfare update download clocks in at 15GB

It appears the next Call of Duty: Modern Warfare update is due to clock in at a whopping 15GB.

Infinity Ward detailed the latest mandatory Modern Warfare update on its blog, nonchalantly noting its massive download size. Although the update seems to be little more than a patch containing relatively minor bug fixes, like speed adjustments to the circle in Warzone, you'll need 15GB of free space to install it. This serves as a continuation of the growing trend surrounding the massive amounts of space required to simply access Modern Warfare.

From the blog post, it appears that the update will be exclusively geared towards console players. "Tuesday’s update includes a required download for PlayStation and Xbox, about 15gbs, and is required to access Modern Warfare," it reads. So, if you play Modern Warfare on PS4 or Xbox and want to play this week, you'll likely need to clear quite a bit of room for the patch.

The patch is scheduled to roll out tomorrow, April 28, and will apparently be paired with a range of playlist updates. According to Infinity Ward, Modern Warfare will be getting a Shoot the Ship 24/7 mode, with Grind and Cranked being added to the mix, as well as a range of variations for Gunfight.

In other Call of Duty news, it seems that the next Call of Duty game will take place in Vietnam. It's also supposedly part of the Black Ops universe, but that much was probably already obvious to series fans. Meanwhile Warzone, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare's popular battle royale mode, recently exceeded 50 million players worldwide.
