Konno explained that while anti-gravity sections are the game's big new feature, underwater and hang-glider areas will return from Mario Kart 7.

The racer features 12-player multiplayer, and users will be able to share race footage and share it with the world in MiiVerse.

If you missed the Mario Kart 8 reveal trailer and screens yesterday, you can see them all here.

The game's out on Wii U in Spring 2014
