Insomniac "definitely dedicated" to PS3 fanbase despite multi-plat Overstrike

Insomniac CEO Ted Price has said that the company will still remain faithful to its PS3 audience despite making the jump to multi-platform development with Overstrike.

"We recognise we have a very loyal fanbase among Sony players, and we love them," Price told Eurogamer in LA.

"We're definitely dedicated to them. However, we've always wanted to reach out to an even broader audience. The Xbox 360 audience has been a viable, vibrant audience for a long time. This was just a chance to do that."

Price said that despite its new found multi-plat status, it'll still work with Sony as a partner for Resistance and Ratchet & Clank.

"We've loved having Sony as a partner for many years, and we're continuing to work with Sony. However, Sony owns the IP. That's great. We've wanted to be able to control our destiny a little bit more in a more solid way. Owning one's IP gives you even more latitude when it comes to how your IP is taken beyond games."

Insomniac showed its brand new IP, Overstrike, at EA's press conference on Monday evening. The game, which will be published by EA Partners, will be released on PS3 and 360. No date was announced during the presser.
