Gamersfirst to open Edinburgh studio

APB: Reloaded publisher Gamersfirst will open a studio in Scotland, home of original All Points Bulletin team Realtime Worlds.

Gamasutra reports the new Edinburgh studio will employ 22 staff initially, and is expected to expand.

Positions available include game engineering, 3D art, and game design.

The company has received £125,000 in regional funding as well as unreported support from local group Scottish Development International.

Former Realtime Worlds IT manager Michael Boniface has been named general manager of the second Reloaded studio and will oversee recruitment, so there's some chance of even more former APB developers getting on board the company that rescued their doomed lovechild.

Assuming they want to move; Realtime Worlds was based in Dundee, where coincidentally Outplay has just created 150 jobs.

Gamersfirst took over APB after Realtime Worlds folded, and is expected to relaunch the game this year.

Thanks, Massively.
