Nintendo E3 Direct, Keanu Reeves at Xbox are E3 2019's biggest moments on Twitter - report

Despite this year's E3 being somewhat uneventful compared to years past, there were still a few clear winners.

And by winners, I mostly mean announcements that excited fans and got people talking. People do a lot of that on Twitter, it turns out, and the platform has revealed the games and announcements that generated the most buzz.

THR reports the biggest moment (most tweeted about) in the show was Nintendo's E3 Direct. This is where we got a good look at The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening, and a teaser for a Breath of the Wild sequel.

Keanu Reeves' arrival at the Xbox stage is the second-biggest moment, though I honestly thought it'd would be first given its cross-media effect. Behind them were Square Enix's Final Fantasy 7 Remake gameplay showcase, and Marvel's Avengers reveal.

For the platform holders, Nintendo generated the largest number of tweets, followed by Microsoft. Even Sony earned enough tweets to land at number three, despite having no presence at this year's show.

As far as the number of tweets for games, Final Fantasy 7 Remake is once again king, followed by Cyberpunk 2077, Breath of the Wild sequel, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, and Marvel’s Avengers at number five.
