Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout PC beta frame-rate will be capped at 90fps

Before the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 Blackout beta goes live on PC later today, Treyarch has updated fans on some of the quirks they'll run into.

Treyarch confirmed that Blackout PC frame-rate will be capped at 90fps during the beta. The developer didn't explicitly state whether frame-rate will be higher - or unlocked - at launch, however.

PC players who took part in the Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 multiplayer beta last month will remember that frame-rate was indeed unlocked, with some players getting over 180fps. The state of the PC port, at least as far as the limited multiplayer beta, was pretty exceptional, so it's a bit bizarre to see this limitation in Blackout.

"To help ensure as smooth an experience as possible for everyone, we are capping the frame-rate at 90fps," wrote the developer.

One other thing PC players should expect is server performance tests, which may cause disconnects and other issues. Server capacity, and player counts will also change over the course of the beta, in a similar way to how it has done throughout week on PS4.

"The beta serves as a testing ground for us to gather information on performance, controls, and so many other details," added Treyarch.

In case you missed it, there is one way for PC players to get access to the beta starting today without pre-ordering, you'll just have to watch some Twitch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches October 12 on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
