XCOM: Enemy Unknown available for Mac, Steam release uncertain
XCOM: Enemy Unknown has been released on Mac directly from porting studio Feral Interactive. However, the game can only be bought direct from the developer or via the Mac App Store, as a Steam release still hangs in the balance.

XCOM developer teases new project
At PAX East, Firaxis showed a brief teaser trailer which was described as heralding the developer’s next big project. The teaser hasn’t been released yet but Kotaku has an off-screen version. If it’s not a a sequel to 2012′s XCOM: Enemy Unknown, then it’s something very closely related.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown headed to Mac with all DLC
XCOM: Enemy Unknown will finally become available to OS-X users thanks to port specialist Feral Interactive. The Mac version is called the Elite Edition, and includes the base game and all previously released DLC including the Slingshot pack, the Elite Soldier pack and the Second Wave update. Although no release date has been set, you can pre-order the Elite Edition through Feral’s dedicated mini-site. XCOM: Enemy Unknown is also available on PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown has “really awesome” DLC coming in 2013
XCOM: Enemy Unknown lead designer Jake Solomon has said to expect more DLC for the game this year, as Slingshot and Second Wave are just the start. “We do have more content coming in 2013,” he told Polygon. “We’re working on something really awesome.” A release window wasn’t provided, as Solomon said it will take the team “some time” to complete the work. Solomon did say, though, that the next DLC wouldn’t have the “limited scope” of the Slingshot DLC.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown screens and video show off Slingshot DLC
Want to have a look at screenshots and video for XCOM: Enemy Unknown’s first DLC, the Slingshot Pack? Of course you do. Head onward for your fill. The content is out today on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 according to 2K. It’ll release on PSN in Europe tomorrow.

XCOM: Enemy Unknown – Slingshot add-on now available
The first add-on pack for XCOM:Enemy Unknown, the Slingshot Content Pack, is now available for $6.99/560 MS Points on PC, PS3, and Xbox Live. PS3 users in Europe can expect the content to land tomorrow via the weekly PSN update. In the DLC, players will meet a Triad operative, divert an alien ship’s course, and battle the aliens in the skies over China through new linked Council missions. The pack also includes three new maps tied to the Council missions, a new playable squad character, and new character customization options. If you’ve yet to pick the game up, a two level single-player demo is still available through PSN, Steam, and XBL.
