Black Ops 2: Uprising has arrived on the XBL Marketplace. Time to head to Alcatraz and get your zombie shooting fix with Mob of the Dead. Those not into the whole shooting of the undead, can also play on the Magma, Encore, Vertigo, and Studio maps. Season Pass holders need not drop a thing, while others will need put down 1200 Microsoft Points. PC and PS3 users will get to participate in the shooting frenzy once the exclusivity period with Microsoft ends. Check availability for your area through here.

In a fit of generosity, Treyarch has decided to extend this weekend’s double XP event for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2. The promotion will continue through 10:00AM PST on Tuesday. This lucrative event clebrates the recent release of the Uprising DLC pack, for which Activision suggested you take a few days off work.

Activision has released the nine Personalization Packs for Black Ops 2 on PC and PS3. The packs contain various customization options, and were released for Xbox 360 earlier this month. Each set contains a weapon camo, three sight reticles, and a Calling Card. A video for it is below, and it’s the same one released earlier in the month, but watch it again anyway.

Activision is hosting a Double XP Weekend for Black Ops 2, to celebrate the impending release of the Uprising DLC Pack. It starts today and runs through Monday, April 15 until 10.00am PST. The Double XP weekend is for PC, PS3, Wii U and Xbox 360. The Uprising DLC launched on April 16 for Xbox 360, and once the exclusivity period ends, it will release on other formats.

Activision has released a new Black Ops 2 video for the Mob of the Dead scenario which takes place on Alcatraz. It comes with the Uprising DLC. The pack goes live on Xbox Live April 16.

Black Ops 2 has a new trailer showing off the “Uprising,” DLC Map Pack. It includes four new multiplayer maps – Magma, Encore, Vertigo, and Studio – which is a re-imagining of the map Firing Range. It also includes a new Zombies adventure, “Mob of the Dead” which takes place on Alcatraz. It also stars Chazz Palminteri, Joey Pantoliano, Michael Madsen, and Ray Liotta. It will be released on April 16 on Xbox Live, and once the exclusivity period ends, it will hit PC and PS3.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has been updated on PC. Two recent patches add a pile of improvements to the multiplayer side, bringing the PC version up to date with recent console fixes as well as applying a collection of platform-specific tweaks. Full patch notes are available on the Activision forums.

Black Ops 2 on PS3 will be able to pick up the Revolution DLC pack on February 28. The announcement was made on the PS Blog. Revolution contains four new multiplayer maps: Downhill, Hydro, Mirage and Grind along withe the Peacekeeper hybrid SMG-Assault Rifle. It also comes with a new Zombies Co-Op Map, Die Rise, along with the new Zombies game mode. PC players will also be able to download the DLC the same day as PS3 users.

If you haven’t checked in with Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 on Wii U recently, it’s time to do so. Treyarch has issued a significant patch, introducing a number of balancing tweaks and fixes already available on other platforms. More excitingly, though, it included an overhaul of WiiMote controls, which aficionados are very pleased about. Full patch notes are available on the shooter’s forum.

Twitch TV has announced Black Ops 2 players will be able to stream their multiplayer matches on the streaming service, starting today. The streams can be shared through Facebook and Twitter, and can be viewed through mobile and browsers through Call of Duty: Elite which allows the player card of the streamer to be viewed. Twitch is supported through PC, PS3, and Xbox 360 versions of the game, with the later being the first to get it. PC and PS3 will follow shortly while no mention was made of Wii U in the press release.

Treyarch is aware of issues with the Black Ops 2 patch deployed for Wii U, which was brought the game up -to-date with the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions. The issues, Treyarch said, are being addressed and the developer is working with Nintendo “on a resolution to this problem and hope to know more at some point tomorrow.” Some of the menu listings from Xbox 360′s Revolution DLC drop “are showing up in the game.” Treyarch noted that this is “not a confirmation of DLC for the Wii U, just a versioning problem that we are working to address.” So if you got your hope up, sorry. An update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 has been released by Treyarch for Xbox 360 and is said to be hitting PlayStation 3 “soon”.
The patch features a long list of updates, most notably perhaps is the addition of the Live Streaming feature to Public Match playlists. Thanks to ComputerAndVideoGames, who have the full patch notes of the improvements and new features.
The update comes in preparation for the Black Ops 2 Revolution DLC which drops January 29 on Xbox Live and includes the addition of four new multiplayer maps, a Zombie arena and the Peacekeeper weapon.
