Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn is a complete overhaul of the panned original. Everything is getting reworked, even the game’s character creator, which seems rather deep if these new screens are anything to go by.

Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn’s alpha test at the end of the month, according to producer Naoki Yoshida. The alpha will contain server stress tests and hardware configurations, and “the backbone of the game’s new system.” The current version of FFXIV will remain available for a while yet, but just remember that after November 11, player data will no longer be ported over to the A Realm Reborn server.
