Final Fantasy 14 player eats 999 eggs in front of large crowd

A Final Fantasy 14 player recently consumed 999 virtual eggs and livetweeted the whole experience.

The player in question is named Ross O'Donovan (cheers, PC Gamer). Shortly after logging in to Marlboro, a fellow Eorzean traveler presented him with 999 eggs for no apparent reason. Naturally, O'Donovan did what any reasonable human being would do and decided it was time to chow down.

Fortunately, virtual chompers don't tire, and digital bellies don't get full. So consuming 999 eggs is possible - it's just a bit time-consuming.

After sharing his mission on Twitter, O'Donovan quickly attracted an audience. Already 314 eggs into his hard-boiled odyssey, people all over Marlboro quickly began to flock to him to watch his attempt at eating almost one thousand eggs.

The surrounding area became flooded with egg aficionados before you could say "scrambled."

A mere 23 minutes later an egg rave erupted. The only things people were armed with were either eggs or glowsticks. This is Final Fantasy 14 at its absolute best.

Shortly after tweeting saying, "MY HAND HURTS," O'Donovan finally accomplished his goal of gobbling down 999 Final Fantasy 14 eggs. Were they Chocobo eggs? Who knows. All we know is that there were 999 of them, and he milled through every single one. That's a lot of protein - no wonder he's the fabled hero of Eorzea.

It's a remarkably impressive feat, in my eyes. The patience. The perseverance. The digital iron stomach. The showmanship. The calm and collected coolness in front of a crowd. Ross O'Donovan is a hero to egg lovers and Final Fantasy 14 lovers everywhere, having successfully mingled two ostensibly immiscible passions into a glorious feat of sheer persistence.

In related news, Final Fantasy 14 patch 5.3 recently dropped, extending free trials, increasing the level cap, and permitting players to progress further into the story while playing via trial subscriptions. I think the egg-eating fiasco was a pretty worthy celebration of it.
