Sorry, David Hayter's not recording new Metal Gear Solid dialogue

David Hayter is voicing Solid Snake at least one more time, but it's not what you think.

The Metal Gear Solid voice acting veteran dropped a very mysterious Tweet suggesting he's currently in the booth as Solid Snake.

Now that you're excited, here's the skinny: Hayter was challenged to record an insult in Snake's voice as part of a social media campaign in support of a Kickstarter to benefit the Antaeus Theatre Company. Paul Eiding, who voices Metal Gear Solid's Roy Campbell, is also involved.

Snake's voice since the PSOne years, David Hayter was replaced by Keifer Sutherland in Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain. Fans did not react well to this change - and nor did Hayter himself. Hideo Kojima stuck by it, though.

Maybe Konami will bring Hayter back now that a new team is working on Metal Gear?
