Tomb Raider writer Rhianna Pratchett collaborating on musical adventure game

Games writer Rhianna Pratchett, of Tomb Raider and Mirror's Edge fame, will be collaborating with indie developer Threaks on their next title, BeatBuddy.

The game is described as a musical adventure platformer, where the player will be solving puzzles while interacting with the musical score.

"No matter what you've written in the past, it's the challenges and the people you work with who really matter," said Pratchett. "I cut my teeth on smaller indie titles, so it's great to do more work in that space again."

Art director Denis Rogic added: "When we started with the story of BeatBuddy last year, we initially held off contacting Rhianna because we assumed that she'd be too busy or might not be interested in a small indie project. It turned out that it was exactly the kind of thing she was looking for."

Polygon is also reporting that Journey composer Austin Wintory will be working on the game, which will launch on PC, Mac and Linux later this year.
