The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has dethroned Battlefield: Hardline by becoming the biggest launch of 2015 in the UK. Chart-track reports that the open-world RPG's sell through numbers were 53% ahead of Hardline's. The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings also landed in the top spot when it launched back in 2012, but The Witcher 3 topped that by a staggering 608%.

The impressive sales of the first week can be attributed to the game's release on three platforms. The PlayStation 4 version made up 63% of the total sales.

Farming Simulator 2015 came out on new and old consoles that week, which gave it a nice boost to the second place. GTA 5 is still trucking, holding the third sport, and is already past 5 million copies sold in the country.
