The Stanley Parable sells 100,000 copies in first week, on the way to Mac soon

The Stanley Parable only launched on PC late last week, but has already hit a significant sales milestone.

In a launch postmortem on the game's website, Galactic Cafe confirmed the unusual narrative-driven title has passed 100,000 sales.

"This is a lot more than we were expecting, and the shock of a successful launch may have been one of its biggest challenges. Some of the repercussions of this success is affected by business decisions we made 18-24 months ago, long before we ever thought this was going to make any real money," the development team noted.

The team credits this success to various factors including interesting trailers and customised demos for specific events and content producers, as well as the general release PC demo, which took months to write, three weeks to build, and has attracted up to 200,000 players already.

Although its currently only available on PC, creator Davey Wreden told GameInformer The Stanley Parable is on its way to Mac.
