After a long day of shouting, what Dragonborn wouldn't want a snack and a nap?

Bethesda's Creation Club wasn't the only thing to arrive in Skyrim today. This also marks the beta release of Skyrim Special Edition's Survival Mode, which PC players can opt-into via Steam. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players will get access to Survival Mode in early October.

As reported by Eurogamer, Skyrim's Survival Mode seems fairly similar to the Fallout 4 version released last year. Hunger and fatigue systems have been introduced as gameplay mechanics, and temperature effects mean you'll need to play close attention to your local climate. On top of that, fast travel options are disabled, so you'll need a horse (or dragon) to get across the map in a timely fashion.

Outside of the beta, Survival Mode will be free for a week on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One systems after launch. Once the free period is complete, you'll have to purchase the addon with Creation Club Credits.
