Skullgirls developer diary shows pixel-perfect animation

If you're going to make a 2D fighter with the beautiful sprite art by Alex Ahad, of Scott Pilgrim and Lava Punch fame, then you'd better take the animation seriously. This video from Reverge Labs shows the developer is doing just that.

Made by fighter fans for fighter fans, Skullgirls is one of those bafflingly complicated and mesmerising jobbies, with the interesting twist of, uh, skull-based attacks. I'm not talking about Liverpool kisses here. Most of these ladies have serious have serious problems.

Skullgirls is due on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 this year.
