SEGA pushes Sonic 4 into back half of the year

SEGA's no longer planning to release Episode 1 of Sonic 4 on PSN, WiiWare and XBLA this summer. Instead, the game has been pushed into the back half of the year.

According to a post over on SEGA Europe's site, the development time of the game has been extended to "ensure overall high-quality throughout the game by continuing to tune, balance, and maintain the kind of polish that an important title like this demands".

Great that the team is polishing it, not so great that it will be late.

However, on a side note, SEGA did reveal that Episode 1 will hit iPhone and iPod Touch upon release, and you can watch a video of it in action over on Sonic Stadium.

Damn it.
