Sega Japan pulling Sonic the Hedgehog 1&2 from XBL and Wii VC

Sega Japan is removing Sonic the Hedgehog titles from Xbox Live and the Wii Virtual Console.

Sega Japan has announced that Gensis/ Mega Drive classics Sonic the Hedgehog 1&2 will no longer be available on Xbox Live or Wii Virtual Console. Today, October 30, is the last day they'll be available for sale.

The information comes from Famitsu [Japanese], but nothing has been announced with regards to the West.

Sonic the Hedgehog 3, as well as the PlayStation versions of 1&2 remain available. They also continue to be available for 3DS through the eShop under the name "3D Sonic the Hedgehog."
