PS5 exclusive Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart arrives in June

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart is landing on PS5 on June 11, and players eager to get their Lombax on can choose either a standard edition or a Digital Deluxe edition.

In an announcement over on the PlayStation Blog, Sony has announced that the Insomniac-developed, PlayStation 5-exclusive title will be available as both a $70 Standard Edition and $80 Digital Deluxe Edition.

"When the evil Dr. Nefarious uses a device that can access alternate dimensions to find a galaxy where he always wins, Ratchet and Clank are separated," says Marcus Smith, creative director at Insomniac Games. "As they try to reunite, they will meet a new Lombax resistance fighter, explore new and familiar locales (but with new dimensional twists!), and wield a whole new arsenal of out of this world weapons."

Check out the new trailer below.

Pre-ordering either version of the game will net you the Carbonox Armor (from Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando) and Pixelizer (from the first game).

If you opt for the Digital Deluxe Edition, you will also be able to use five more armor sets, you'll get 20 bonus Raritanium to upgrade your weapons with, and you'll have access to a special sticker in photo mode, as well as a digital artbook and soundtrack.

The new blog post also gives us some hints about the new female Lombax we've been seeing in trailers: though we don't get her name, the blog says "Hang in there, you'll be feeling rosy soon." Does that sound like a hint to you? Because it certainly does to us.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart was announced for the PS5 in June 2020, and you can expect the game to show off many of the PlayStation 5’s features as it takes you through ray-traced reflections on Clank’s character model, and loads in multiple playable dimensions at the same time.
