Nintendo to launch free-to-play game not based on Pokemon or Mario IP

Nintendo boss Satoru Iwata said during a financial briefing at E3 Nintendo will release a free-to-play title during this fiscal year, which ends March 31, 2014. Details weren't provided, but he did say it wouldn't be based on the Pokemon or Mario franchises. The news was broken by industry analyst David Gibson over Twitter and confirmed later by Nintendo. The transcript from the meeting will be available next week on Nintendo's investor relations website. Via Polygon.
