Nintendo Direct: New Nintendo 3DS XL coming to US and Europe on February 13

During the first Nintendo Direct of 2015 a release date for New 3DS XL was announced along with a release date for Majora's Mask.

New 3DS XL, Majora's Mask, Monster Hunter

New 3DS XL will release in black and red for $199.99. It will not come with a charger. You can use any Nintendo 3DS, 2DS, 3DS XL, or DSi charger with the New Nintendo 3DS XL.

Nintendo has said the warranty on your brand spanking New 3DS XL system will be voided if you purchase a third-party charger for it; however, this warranty notice is nothing new with 3DS systems, and if you purchase a name brand third-party charger licensed by Nintendo, it won't be an issue. Just FYI in case you were not familiar with this bit.

Nintendo of America doesn't plan to release the standard sized New 3DS in North America as the larger XL version "makes the most sense" for the market. Whether or not the smaller version will be released in the future remains to be seen.

Both the standard New 3DS and New 3DS XL will be released in the UK, per GAME.

Majora's Mask 3D will launch alongside of the system in the US and Europe and a Limited Edition 3DS XL featuring the game's emblem will be released. According to Nintendo, the ability to pre-order this version is coming soon.

Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate will receive a bundle with New 3DS XL in North America and Europe. In the US it will run you $229.99 and it is emblazoned with art inspired by the game. The game comes pre-installed, so you can just plug and play.

In February, a system update will allow Amiibo support for Super Smash Bros for 3DS using New Nintendo 3DS XL. The previously announced NFC adapter for Amiibo support on Nintendo 3DS will launch in the future.
