Xbox corporate vice president Mike Ybarra has announced that he's moving on from Microsoft after 20 years. Ybarra broke the news on Twitter, and has since received an outpouring of support from Phil Spencer and other top Xbox employees, not to mention fans.

Although the Microsoft veteran didn't say where he's going next, he did tease it will continue to be in gaming as he works to "try and make gaming better for everyone", promising to reveal more about his next adventure soon.

"Thank you for your many contributions to Microsoft and Xbox. You've been a strong advocate for our fans from day one, and have consistently driven to keep gamers at the center of everything we do. All of us at TeamXbox wish you the best," wrote head of Xbox Phil Spencer.

In his tenure at Microsoft, Ybarra served in many leadership positions. General manager of Xbox Live, Xbox partner studios manager, corporate vice president of program management at Xbox are all roles that lead him to oversee Xbox Live, Game Pass and Mixer beginning in 2017.
