Metal Gear Solid 5 mod lets you play as Snake Plissken

It is widely known that Metal Gear Solid's protagonist has been inspired by Snake Plissken, so it's time to bring the two together.

Modder Jinmar has created a new mod for Metal Gear Solid 5 that serves a dual purpose; both united in the same spirit. The mod is a simple 3D model swap that replaces the default Punished Snake in-game model with that of Snake Plissken's from Escape from New York.

The same mod also lets you replace Snake with Jack Burton from Big Trouble in Little China, both characters obviously being Kurt Russell classics. The mod tweaks the head and character skin to match Russell's appearance, but sadly doesn't include any voice samples or other defining features.

Still, though, it's a pretty good render of Plissken, especially, and fits quite well in Metal Gear Solid 5's morose cut-scenes. You'll just have to put up with Kiefer Sutherland's gravelly voice, like you've done for the entirety of The Phantom Pain.

See the mod in action in the trailer below, and download it yourself at Nexus Mods.
