Meditation Games is a cool indie project that gives you a new experience every day for all of 2019

If you want a short and sweet, unique video game experience every day for the entire year, keep an eye on Meditation Games.

The project, dreamed up by Vlambeer’s Rami Ismail, is a collaboration between hundreds of developers. All you need to do is download the launcher, put aside five minutes, and load it up each day.

Here’s the blurb:

“What if every day, there was a small message from the past with a small game or toy to play with? Meditations is a launcher that, every day, loads a small game and an accompanying text as a meditation, distraction, lesson, or inspiration for that day. #meditationgames”

Once the day is done, the game is gone until the date rolls around again next year. The full list of developers also won’t be available until December 31, 2019, so expect some surprises in there from names you might recognise, as well as an introduction to new creatives.

Each game is a minimalist experience with little to no text, inspired by a personal story in its developer’s life. They take around five minutes to complete and took the creators around six hours to create.

When you launch each game - all of them unlocking as the day begins in GMT - you can also find details on the developer of that particular meditation, which means you can reach out to them if you enjoyed it.

Today’s game is from Adriel Wallick and is about being an introvert. It made me close the window in frustration, but I imagine that’s entirely the point. Download the Meditation Games launcher here.
