LEGO Dimensions out this fall, starter pack contains Gandalf, Batman, more

Details on Warner's LEGO Dimensions have been sent over by after information on the new game and toys line leaked earlier this morning.

Rumor of Warner's version of Skylanders and amiibo surfaced back in mid-March.

In the game, players will use the figurines to take on Lord Vortech using various characters, vehicles and weapons such as: LEGO Bad Cop, the DeLorean Time Machine from Back to the Future, the Ninjago Masters of Spinjitsu, Wonder Woman and more.

Per this Reddit post, Batman, Gandalf and Wyldstyle along with the video game and other contents will be packaged with the starter pack.

Here's the contents:

  • LEGO Dimensions videogame
  • LEGO Toy Pad (brings characters into the console game)
  • LEGO Gateway building bricks
  • 3 LEGO minifigures (Batman, Gandalf, and Wyldstyle)
  • LEGO Batmobile vehicle

Other figurines from DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The LEGO Movie, The Wizard of Oz, LEGO Ninjago, Back to the Future, and others will be announced at a future date.

Additional Level Packs, Team Packs and Fun Packs will be offered and will include buildable characters, vehicles, tools and gadgets, as well as extra game content with new mission-based levels and in-game abilities.

All expansion packs will feature well-known properties with the ability to use everything interchangeably throughout the game.

A small sample of packs available in 2015 include:

  • Back to the Future Level Pack/LEGO Marty McFly minifigure
  • LEGO Ninjago Team Pack/Kai and Cole minifigures
  • Three Ninjago Fun Packs/Jay, Nya and Zane minifigures
  • Two DC Comics Fun Packs/ Wonder Woman and Cyborg minifigures
  • Three The Lord of the Rings Fun Packs/LEGO Gollum, LEGO Gimli and LEGO Legolas minifigures
  • Four The LEGO Movie Fun packs/Emmet, Bad Cop, Benny and Unikitty characters
  • The Wizard of Oz Fun Pack/LEGO Wicked Witch of the West minifigure

Additional packs to round out 2015 will be announced in the months leading to launch with more expansion packs releasing regularly post launch and into 2016. Future expansion packs will continue to work with the Starter Pack, even in the fall of next year.

LEGO Dimensions releases on September 27 in North America and on September 29 in the UK for PlayStation 3, PS4, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.

The starter pack is available for pre-order now through Toys R Us for $100.
