Konami and Harmonix both dismiss "all claims and counterclaims" in patent suit

hug it out

Konami and Harmonix settled a patent dispute over Rock Band, according to court filings in Texas this week.

Per Bloomberg, the suit launched from way back in 2008, found the two companies both agreeing to "dismiss all claims and counterclaims".

The filing, dated September 15 not only dropped the Konami suit, but the counter suit filed by Harmonix's parent company Viacom in Boston federal court.

Terms of the agreement weren’t disclosed.

Originally filed in July 2008, Konami sued over patent violation related to Rock Band, claiming the game violate patents filed by the firm in 2002 and 2003.

Glad that's all in the past, then.

Thanks, Joystiq (via Bloomberg).
