Hirshberg: Call of Duty web series to form part of Elite sub

Activision Publishing CEO Eric Hirshberg has said that it's creating a web series on Call of Duty that Elite subscriptions will get exclusive access to.

It isn't made clear if it'll be a live-action affair or if it'll be animated. Sounds like it'll be the former, though.

"We have engaged some top Hollywood talent to create linear video content that will be exclusive to Elite members. That content is inspired by Call of Duty," he told The Guardian.

Hirshberg insisted that Elite was all about giving players of the series "real entertainment value."

"If you're a sports fan, there are lots of ways for you to connect with that hobby, that passion, not just on the day that the games are played, but throughout the week, and we wanted to give [Call of Duty players] real entertainment value."

Elite was announced yesterday as CoD' subscription service. More details about it are here. A beta will launch this summer, with a full launch later this year.
