Fallout 4 announce sharply spikes legacy series sales

Fallout 4 has re-ignited interest in Bethesda's post-apocalyptic shooter RPG series.

Fallout 4 was officially announced this week ahead of an expected E3 2015 reveal.

The gaming Internet went absolutely batshit for the news, watching the first Fallout 4 trailer millions of times.

In fact, the masses liked the announce so much they ran out to purchase precursors Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas en masse; just take a look at the 2008 and 2010 titles tearing up the Amazon Movers and Shakers chart.

At time of writing, Fallout 3 was in 17th position and Fallout: New Vegas was in 20th. (Here's a screengrab [PNG] showing it hit at least #6 this week.)

I wonder if this is all new players getting on board the hype train, or those who traded their copies rushing back to an old favourite?

Anyway, it bodes very well for the new game. It looks like we might see Fallout 4 release in 2015; bless the new fashion for short PR cycles. It's coming to PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
