Destiny 2 won't become a Steam exclusive on PC

Destiny 2 won't be locked down to one PC store.

Geoff Keighley sat down with Bungie developers at the E3 Coliseum to chat the future of Destiny 2. During the show, General Manager Mark Noseworthy discussed the incoming move to Steam.

It might not just be Steam, either. After lengthy exclusivity on the Battle.net client, Bungie is ready to blow the doors open.

"This is about where we’re moving this year, and we do want Destiny to be a game where you can play anytime anywhere with your friends, and be able to find it in multiple places, so it’s totally conceivable that someday we’d be on the Epic Games Store and other launchers in different regions”.

Bungie has big plans to open up Destiny like never before. The recent announcement that Cross-Save is coming to Destiny 2 was followed by a Tweet from Noseworthy yesterday. The General Manager claims that Cross-Play is something the developer is keen on pushing some day.

If true, one day you'll be able to play with your fireteam no matter what platform. Steam, PS4, Xbox, and even perhaps Epic someday.
