Civilization 6 is free to play this weekend on Steam

If you missed out on nabbing Civilization 6 when it was free on the Epic Games Store, maybe a free trial on Steam will soften the blow.

For the next two days on Steam, Civilization 6 is free to download and play on Steam.

The turn-based strategy game tasks you with becoming a ruler by creating and leading a civilization from the Stone Age to the Information Age. You will work on diplomacy, advance your culture, go to war, and more.

If you like what you play, you can pick it up for 75% off until July 27.

Recently the Ethiopia Pack was made available as part of the New Frontier Pass or as an individual $4.99 purchase. The pack introduces Menelik II as the leader of Ethiopia.

Ethiopia focuses on cities built on Hills, generating Faith and using Menelik’s “Council of Ministers” ability to boost Science and Culture.

It also includes the Secret Societies game mode, where players will encounter mysterious organizations "who offer their civilization their powerful skills."
