Assassin's Creed Unity free on PC, Ubisoft donating €500k toward reconstruction of Notre-Dame Cathedral

Ubisoft is handing out a free copy of Assassin's Creed Unity PC to encourage donations toward reconstruction of the Notre-Dame Cathedral.

In light of Monday's events, Ubisoft will also donate €500,000 ($565,000) to help with restoration and reconstruction of the Cathedral.

To give everyone a chance to experience the beauty of Notre-Dame, for the next week the company has made Assassin's Creed Unity a free download on PC.

"When we created Assassin's Creed Unity, we developed an even closer connection with this incredible city and its landmarks – one of the most notable elements of the game was the extraordinary recreation of Notre-Dame," said Ubisoft.

"Video games can enable us to explore places in ways we never could have otherwise imagined. We hope, with this small gesture, we can provide everyone an opportunity to appreciate our virtual homage to this monumental piece of architecture."

You can download it now for Uplay PC at the link.

Assassins' Creed Unity will be free for PC through April 25 at 3am local time.
