Namco becomes first third-party developer to support Amiibo figurines

In November, Nintendo said it was considering allowing Amiibo support to third-party publishers and developers. Now, it appears Namco Bandai is the first to jump on the opportunity One Piece: Super Grand Battle! X.

Revealed in the latest issue of Shonen Jump Magazine, the game not only supports Amiibo figurines, but players can also unlock Nintendo-themed costumes.

This means Luffy can dress like Mario if the latter's Amiibo is used, and so on with other characters.

Available only in Japan for now, the 3DS game was released in November.
