Alien: Isolation has been updated with two new difficulty settings, including one that sounds pretty masochistic.
Alien: Isolation isn't easy, and its unusual approach to stealth gameplay has been hard for some players to adjust to - or like.
To help address this, developer The Creative Assembly has released a free update to the horror game, adding a Novice difficulty setting.
According to PC Gamer, this mode provides "more time and breathing space with which to explore Sevastopol", makes resources more plentiful, and renders the xenomorph "more forgiving, more easily distracted, and less aggressive in his hunting style".
For those who already love the game and want to make it even harder, through, there's Nightmare mode. In this new addition, the motion detector is broken, resources are scanty, the map is offline, and enemies will be more aggressive. The xenomorph has heightened senses and will adapt more quickly to your actions.
