Watch the Resident Evil Showcase livestream here today

Capcom's first Resident Evil Showcase this year is due to go live later today, and the publisher assures us it'll feature a slew of announcements related to the iconic horror franchise.

According to the company, today's presentation will mostly focus on Resident Evil Village – we're due to get our very first look at the gameplay of the title, and we're promised more information about the characters, setting and tone of the game, too.

Last week, Capcom published a tweet that noted the info will be presented in a new Direct-style video that will be released on Thursday, January 21. The livestream is set to begin at 2pm PT/ 5pm ET/ 10pm GMT.

You can watch the Showcase as soon as it goes live via the embedded video above.

“Join our host Brittney Brombacher as we showcase new information on Resident Evil Village, including an extended trailer that unveils a bit more of the world and mysterious new characters, as well as a first look at gameplay! We’ll also have Producer Peter Fabiano there to help guide you through the world of Resident Evil Village and the horrors that await you. If you need to leave the lights on and hide under a blanket, we won’t judge you,” says a teaser for the Showcase over on the PlayStation Blog.

So what else can we expect in the Resident Evil Showcase? Aside from Resident Evil Village, we know that Capcom has a few other active Resi projects in the works, including two Netflix shows. Back in September, we heard about Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness coming to Netflix in 2021. Following that announcement, we had confirmation that a live-action Resident Evil series starring the ‘Wesker kids‘ is in development, too.

You can now sign up for a closed beta test for a mysterious multiplayer project that celebrates the 25th anniversary of Resident Evil on PS4 and Xbox One (and assumedly on next-gen consoles via backwards compatibility).
