Ubisoft wants to "come back big" with Splinter Cell and with "new types of experiences"

Splinter Cell fans can expect "new types of experiences" and on other devices, says Ubisoft.

Splinter Cell is not a franchise Ubisoft has forgotten about, and it is currently "working on the brand" in order to bring it back at some point.

This is according to Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot, who shared the information with Gamersky (via Games Radar) in an interview.

While Guillemot has made similar comments previously, he told the site the company will offer "new types of experiences" with the IP.

"On Splinter Cell, there will be some new types of experiences, but more on different devices," he said. "We are working on the brand today to come back at one point. We can't say when, because it takes time, but we have to find, each time, the right experience to come back big."

One of the new types of experiences could refer to Splinter Cell coming Oculus Rift.

Back in July, a report stated Facebook and Ubisoft has signed a VR-exclusivity deal bring both Assassin’s Creed and Splinter Cell to Oculus.

Neither Facebook or Ubisoft offered confirmation of the report when reached for comment.

It's been a while since we were gifted with a new Splinter Cell title. The last entry was Blacklist, and was released almost six years ago.

We did, however, get a glimpse of Sam Fisher when he made an appearance in Ghost Recon Wildlands last year.
