Potter's Calamity Brilliant Event - where to find Common Dark Wizards in Wizards Unite

Every now and then in Harry Potter Wizards Unite, a new batch of special assignments pop up in your folder: Brilliant Events.

These limited-time jaunts give you the chance to catch, collect, and battle special, unique, and alternate variants of Foundables and Confoundables - as well as complete challenges to earn more XP in your Registry.

Some of these challenges are more straightforward than others, and one in particular seems to be giving players trouble. Here’s how to maximise your chances of finding Common Dark Wizards to finish off those pesky challenges.

Potter’s Calamity Brilliant Event - where to find Common Dark Wizards

First off, to battle anything at all you need to find a Fortress. These are the co-op raid dungeons in Wizards Unite.

Once you’re in the right place, you need to choose a Floor to challenge. The lower the Floor, the weaker the enemies.

Since you’re looking for Common Dark Wizards, challenge between Floors 1 and 4, where the majority of the enemies you’ll encounter are common.

You’ll probably have to face the same Floor multiple times to find the Dark Wizard that you need, especially as you need to battle three for the challenge - but persevere and you should luck out.

There’s one more thing that you can do to increase your odds as well.

Because of the combat triangle in the game, where Aurors are strong against Dark Forces, Professors are strong against Curiosities, and Magizoologists are strong against Beasts, and so on, the spawn rates of different enemies are different for different professions.

If you’re struggling to find a lot of Dark Wizards, this could be because you’re playing as a Professor or Magizoologist, who are generally accepted to face off against fewer Dark Forces enemies (which the Common Dark Wizards are).

For an added boost to your chances swapping you profession to Auror - it’s free after all - so you’re more likely to encounter Dark Forces across your multiple attempts at Fortress Floors.

Don’t worry too much if you haven’t specced out that skill tree, since you’re battling low Floors it shouldn’t be too much of an issue.
