Egypt’s unique features in Civilization will make it a valuable ally and trade partner.
Civilization 6 unveils its first look at Egypt
Civilization 6 is coming out this October, at which point strategy fans will be raising cities, building Wonders, and saying “just one more turn” all over again. But that also means you can start planning your tactics early, and Firaxis is helping out with First Look videos detailing various civilizations. The latest is Egypt, which appears to place a heavy emphasis on trade strategies.
For example, Cleopatra grants Egypt various in-game benefits to trade, granting additional gold from trade routes. Any trade routes from other civilizations will also grant this gold bonus, along with extra food for the originator. This makes Egypt an especially valuable ally and trade partner, much like its real-life historical counter-part.
And that’s not Egypt’s only unique benefit. The Egyptian special ability lets the civilization to build districts and Wonders faster on rivers, and flood plains will not block their placement. Egypt also gains the Maryannu Chariot Archer, which has bonus moves when starting on open terrain, and Sphinxes that provide bonuses to Faith and Culture.
Civilization 6 launches for PC, Mac, and Linux on October 21, 2016.
