Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z has a new, 30-second video available showing the bloody sword game with zombies from Team Ninja’s Yosuke Hayashi and Comcept’s Keiji Inafune. The game takes place in a world where ninja meets undead warriors and features cybernetic weapons. The game is slated for release in early 2014 on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z will be released in early 2014, and Tecmo Koei has announced it will be heading to PC via Steam. Yaiba is in development with Team Ninja’s Yosuke Hayashi and Comcept’s Keiji Inafune, and features a world where ninja meets undead warriors and features cybernetic weapons. Although you might have expected freshly-released Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate to be the final form of the fighter, it’s not. Siliconera reports the version headed to Japanese arcades during northern winter will have an additional cast member. No details on who the addition is have been released, and there’s no word on if they’ll come to the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 version.

The latest version of Dead or Alive 5, the recently-announced Ultimate, is getting an arcade release in Japan. Shoryuken reports, via Japanese sources, that the arcade release is set for northern winter and will use Sega’s ALL.Net P-ras MULTI Ver.2 system. It’s the first time the Dead or Alive series has released in Japanese arcades in 13 years. Ultimate is also heading west in free-to-play form as well as as a full retail release.

Quite a few videos have been released for Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z, and each are less than two minutes long but at least you get a look at gameplay. A developer diary for Yaiba: Ninja Gaiden Z is below, and features Team Ninja leader Yosuke Hayashi and concept lead, Keiji Inafune, discussing development of the game. The game is in the works between three developmental entities: Comcept, Spark Unlimited, and Team Ninja. In the video, Inafune and Hayashi talk about many things, along with the differences between development in Japan and the west – something which has been touched upon before by the team. Have a watch below. We’re still unsure of a release date or platforms, but we’ll know more come E3 next week.

Team Ninja has announced some sort of re-release or new version of Dead or Alive 5.
