First Scribblenauts reviews are fair to excellent

scribblenauts

The first few Scribblenauts reviews have gone live. It’s looking like it might not be quite the super-game E3 promised, but it’s rosy nonetheless.

But still. Essential DS purchase, surely. The 5th Cell puzzler’s out on October 9.

First Resident Evil 5 PC review is 9.3/10

residentevil539

IGN’s put up the first review of Resident Evil 5′s PC version, and it’s glowing.

“It may not be a radically new Resident Evil 5, but the PC version of the game still manages to hold its own with an improved control scheme and extra Mercenaries mode,” said the site.

“While the addition of costumes is somewhat minor, and you may require a few upgrades to your computer to take full advantage of what the game has to offer, you’re exploring a great story and excellent gameplay.”

It’s worth a whopping 9.3/10. You’ll be able to buy it next Friday.

IL-2 Sturmovik bagging good scores, releasing Friday

il23

Looks as though the latest IL-2 Sturmovik, Birds of Prey, is no slouch. The air combat title, releasing on Friday in Europe, is keeping its head above 80 on MetaCritic and seems worthwhile of those soon-to-be heavily depleted notes in your pocket.

Round-up below. Got to be worth a waz, innit.

Eurogamer to re-review Grand Slam Tennis

grandslamtennis

EG’s just said it’s to re-review EA’s Grand Slam Tennis, and has pulled its original 5/10 score.

The site’s editor, Tom Bramwell, said on his blog today that the game’s retail version is significantly more responsive than the dev kit set-up used for the review.

“As a result, I’m immediately withdrawing Eurogamer’s Grand Slam Tennis review until we will publish a new review based purely on retail console play,” said Bramwell.

“The existing text will remain online with big whopping signposts on it that highlight the above, and once the replacement review is published, it will redirect to that.”

The new score will go live on Monday.

Killzone 2 gets 32/40 in latest Famitsu, as does HAWX

killzone219

Famitsu thinks Killzone 2′s worth 32/40, according to the game’s review in the magazine’s latest issue. The Guerrilla shooter was given 8/8/8/8 by the mag’s panel.

Tom Clancy’s HAWX got exactly the same score, meaning that either Killzone 2 is as good as HAWX, or HAWX is as good as Killzone 2.

The obvious question: is either as good as Halo?
