Latest Resident Evil 7 teasers take a look at inspection, trying to solve a puzzle with a creepy poppet

Being able to inspect items picked up while wandering around a creepy, derelict mansion is important.

Having a few interesting items in your inventory is also a crucial in Resident Evil 7, as you never know when you might need that odd object you picked up. Like a straw doll that is apparently "hard to touch."

In the video above, Volume: 7 A Closer Look, you will see the main character inspecting a metal case. The player will use the left and right triggers, or sticks possibly, to turn the object in multiple directions. As you will see, pressing the x-button will open the container, but the video cuts off before you are able to see what's inside.

The Volume 8, Imagination, the player enters a room which features a perfectly round hole in the wall. The light shining through it illuminates a framed image of a rather nasty looking spider ready to pounce an unfortunate butterfly caught in its web. Pulling up the inventory, you see the character cycle through various objects: the straw fetish with "You" scrawled across the face; a knife, what looks to be computer component, and a yellow balloon. This is definitely some sort of puzzle the player will need to solve.

Capcom has been releasing these short teasers for the game since mid-October, and if you missed  Volumes 1-2Volumes 3-4, or Volumes 5-6, be sure to hit up the links.

Resident Evil 7 will be released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One January 24. It will also support 4K with played on PS4 Pro.
