Destiny has gone gold

Destiny developer Bungie has announced that Destiny has finally gone gold. Following a development period of over three years for the ambitious game, all development work is now finished and the discs are now getting pressed, to be later distributed to retailers around the world.

The developer broke the news on its blog earlier, saying that despite this being the end of the development cycle for the game, it's actually the beginning of a new thing entirely, the life of an online game, which has its own set of challenges, challenges that can be almost impossible to predict.

Bungie knows this and is already making final tunings on the back-end to make sure the lanch is as smooth as it can be, after all over four million of you played the beta, and with news of Destiny being among the highest pre-ordered new IPs in history, that number will sure increase.

"This weekend, we’re going to start testing the launch version of Destiny. We know you’d love to help, but this golden moment is meant for us alone. Don’t be too jealous, because we’ll wipe our Guardians one more time before you get to meet them.

"Several times before Day One, we’ll update Bungie.net so that it can serve as the philosophical centre of the City. If you intend to play Destiny, you’ll want to link your gaming account to a login here. If you’re already linked up, you’re golden. If you’re so hardcore that you've chosen a team," wrote the developer.

Not so long left for Destiny now, the MMO-shooter hybrid is out September 9 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. You will be able to play it as early as the first minute of September 9.
