  2. CyberMarco

    Excited? Hell yeah!

But I think I’ll wait for the inevitable MGS:V Complete Edition, including Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain.

Is that the actual cover of the game?

Also, in before 2D-low texture grass and shit like that.

  7. TheBlackHole

@4 The price is not amazing until the content is verified.

I can sell you a loading screen for £4.99. Still shit value.

Not convinced this is anything more than selling a lengthy demo at an extreme premium.

I’m still confused. Are Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain 2 separate games?

    #8 1 year ago
  9. TheBlackHole

    @8 apparently

  10. Erthazus

@8, Storywise they are not separate but as releases they are separate.

Look at this as Walking dead episodic content.

Looks to me like one game split in two, £60 for them instead of £50.

  12. Erthazus

I think Phantom Pain will cost 60$ like all their games.

Ground Zeroes is just that first camp in Cuba and bugger all else. Its a demo to get people used to the new mechanics, like they haven’t played any other games for the past 5 years.

You’ll sneak through the camp, free Chico and then get shot to bits which will initiate the start of Phantom Pain.

Phantom Pain will be the full title with the open world, and the map and all the characters and the flash backs and all that shit. Ground Zeroes will be one map with multiple entry and exit points, multiple routes for replayability and what not.

Actually heres a better way to understand this : Its the Tanker segment on Metal Gear Solid 2, split off from the main game and charged for. Thanks Konami!

    Kojima make.believe!
I think that it will apear as one of the best Action/Stealth games of the 8th generation because MGS rivals have knocked out for two years: SC & Hitman.
But I still believe in Hitman franchise, Ground Zeroes looks Goregous! But it’s price… :/

@13: No it is a full game. Maybe not as long as The Phantom Pain will be, but its not just a demo.

    Quote fom AGB:
    Key Features

    • The power of Fox Engine – Ground Zeroes showcases Kojima Productions’ stunning FOX Engine, a true next-generation game engine which revolutionizes the Metal Gear Solid experience.

    • Introduction to Open World design – The first Metal Gear Solid title to offer open world gameplay. Ground Zeroes offers total freedom of play: how missions are undertaken is entirely down to the user.

    • Unrestricted Stealth – Imagine classic Metal Gear gameplay but with no restrictions or boundaries. Players use intelligence and cerebral strategy to sneak their way through entire missions, or go in all guns blazing. Each will have different effects on game consequences and advancement.

    • Multiple missions and tasks – Ground Zeroes boasts a central story mode and additional side-missions ranging from tactical action, aerial assaults and “covert” stages that will be sure to surprise.

    • Redesigned interface – Ground Zeroes users will benefit from a clean in-game HUD that shows the minimal amount of on-screen data to give a more intense gaming experience.

    • Various in-game weather settings – Ground Zeroes will test the player in a variety of time and weather environments that will be central to Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. Use night conditions to your advantage, or poor weather as strategic cover.

    • True next generation gaming – Available simultaneously with the current generation of gaming consoles, Ground Zeroes will give PS4 and Xbox One consumers the chance to showcase the power of their new machines.

This news is absolutely awesome. Since the announcement of Phantom Pain as the second Story in MGSV, I was hopen, they’d be two games, with one coming earlier (back then, I was hoping for summer 2013, but well) and being free to play or low budged. I think, Kojima even said something like this when The Phantom Pain was debunked as MGSV.

Nothing in there states that there will be anything beyond the Cuban camp.

    Which is fine.

  20. CycloneFox

@20: That’s true and I don’t suppose it’ll be something like a 15+ hours game. But the cuban camp mission must be vast if there are “Multiple missions and tasks – Ground Zeroes boasts a central story mode and additional side-missions ranging from tactical action, aerial assaults and “covert” stages that will be sure to surprise.”

My assumption is a mission similar to Shadow Moses Island, but maybe shorter and of course, in the middle of an open world with other stuff to explore.

Will it just be the one mission we have seen so far on the Cuban base? doesn’t bother me i will buy it regardless.

I’m going end up buying both console versions, then both versions of Phantom Pain, then complete editions.

Such a Metal Gear mark :(

so basically they are going to charge us 30 pounds for a demo? seriously wtf, guessing this is a demo since they keep showing us the same screenshots and the same map

  28. Kuwabara

So instead of selling one large game like mgs2, they are splitting the 2 chapters in two releases at a discounted price each.
