SWTOR update 2.4 detailed, bounty hunter event dated

The next big update for Star Wars: The Old Republic is 2.3, coming on August 6 with two new flashpoints and an Ewok companion, but BioWare says that update 2.4, which is tentatively dated for October 1, might be an even bigger deal, as it will arrive with two new operations, new 4v4 arenas and a new tier of gear for both PvP and PvE.

BioWare didn't provide much in the way of actual details on all that stuff other than what I just said, so we'll have to wait to find out more. There was one additional bit, though, that is open to interpretation: "The Planet Oricon, a short story arc that will bring you face-to-face with the Dread Masters." I would assume that's a new soloable quest, or maybe a mix of solo and group content like the HK-51 quest. In any case, it's another thing. Update 2.4 looks like the fullest numbered update for the game so far other than 2.0.

We also found out today that the bounty hunting event they teased a couple weeks ago is going to start August 13. This monthly event will include new achievements that come with Cartel Coin rewards, so that's some incentive.
