Xbox One: Quantum Break box-art surfaces, shows protagonists

Thursday, 30th May 2013 10:54 GMT By Dave Cook

Quantum Break is the debut game from Alan Wake studio Remedy, and the official box-art appears to have leaked online, showing a pair of potential protagonists looking miserable.

The pack art was found over at retailer Cdon’s site, which is now taking orders.

Little is known of the game, aside from a trailer at Microsoft’s Xbox One reveal that spliced gameplay and live-action clips together. It will exist as a game and TV series in tandem, much like Defiance, and we’ve got some screens here.

What do you think of the art?

Cheers GAF.

Yeah it will either be a exclusive which never apprears on PC or similar to Alan Wake 1-2 years exclusive, then fast PC port.

You know you can just rent the new Xbox and play a game if you are interested in it.

Thats what i will do as i dont want to buy one.

    I pay 9€ for a weekend (Saturday/Sunday/Monday) Xbox360+1controller+1game from a local videostore.

This might be the best game xbox one offers but the real series thing better not hurt it

Maybe some gameplay elements like pausing time or something similar just by looking at that cover. Hmmm…

Already box–art? Could it be launch game or is that wishful thinking? As awesome as Remedy is, Max Payne took a DAMN long time to be finished and Alan Wake….that too. So i guess there’s no telling when to expect this.

How can it considering those are current gen games with no intention on releasing on PS4 to fight MS’s big guns.

@14 Max Payne was first game they ever made and Remedy was barely standing back then. At times they didn’t even work on that full time, it was basically indie studio making “new kind 3rd person shooter”. There was even points where they were ready to give up on project. It was glorious day for Remedy and Finnish video gaming industry when Max Payne 1 shipped. Max Payne 2 was developed a lot faster.

Alan Wake took long time because they had to change almost everything about games design half way through. First they started it as PC exclusive and open world game. They ran into narrative problems with open world design, didn’t fit what they wanted to do, so they had to scrap a lot and start to make more linear approach. Still PC exclusive. Then they got greased up by MS and now Alan Wake was XO timed exclusive so again a lot to redo so it would fit console platform as lead.

I don’t say that Remedy doesn’t take theirs sweet time with development, but more than not reasons have been very good instead of “We don’t know what we are doing with ours game!” -iteration cycle. Personally I expect Quantum Break to be great game from Remedy and I also hope for PC port couple years after release on XBone.
