Zombies confirmed for Black Ops co-op

blackopszombies

Activision’s just announced it’ll be adding zombies for Call of Duty: Black Ops.

It’ll still be four-player co-op like it was when the mode was introduced in World at War in 2008.

“Zombies have been such a hit with our community that we were committed to bringing brand new zombie experiences to Call of Duty: Black Ops,” said Treyarch boss Mark Lamia.

“We’ve taken extra special care to retain the essential ingredients of our Zombie game, and have also crafted a nice surprise for the fans.”

This week, zombies for the game were unofficially revealed when it was shown in several retail listings for the strategy guide, as well as a press release for the book.

It was also outed a while back thanks to a Best Buy listing, which showed four “zombie Maps Pack made famous from COD: World at War” being listed for Black Ops’ Hardened and Prestige editions.

Its official return was teased yesterday on the game’s official website.

Combat training time, you maggots

Activision also announced a new co-op mode for Black Ops, known as Combat Training, where you and five other players in “this dedicated and exclusive multiplayer mode battling against enemy AI.”

No more details were announced on both Combat Training or Zombies.

Call of Duty: Black Ops launches on November 9 for PS3, 360 and PC

Happy like a little schoolgirl or whatever now, i loved Zombie mode in WaW and i was hoping so much for it to return. Finally a confirmation. Hopefully we’ll at least get 3 new maps, and i wonder what that suprise is.

I’m really bored of zombies now. Even sparkly vampires are starting to look appealing.

Yay!
So it isnt Nazi Zombies, just Zombies. Will it be Vietcong Zombies rising up to take revenge on the invading GI’s?

And, can they confirm whether or not Zombies mode will be for all versions of the game or if it is going to only be available for those who buy the Hardened edition? Is it just the map pack from WAW that you get when buying the hardened edition?
If Zombies comes with all versions, i’ll stick to the basic edition. I dont need the old maps.

Hell no buddy. If no Zombies, Werewolves then. Glittery Vampires should never have even existed (Although the books were actually decent and the 3rd movie was too).

@3 I believe you get the old WaW zombie maps with the hardened edition. I think this new confirmation has to do with zombies in the regular game. So it sounds like zombies with all versions.

Zombies are definitely the new black, but it’s hard to stop that when people keep making perfectly good zombie games and movies.

Like the Minecraft. Whoof.

It can’t last though, major major exploitation going on. Whatever happened to werewolves? Those guys are badass.

Dog Soldiers anyone? Lycanthropy for the fricken win.

1) Werewolves
2) Cenobites
3) Zombies
4) Space aliens
5) Cultists
6) Creepy kids
7) Women with brains/opinions

Vampires are basically emo babies. You smear their make-up before they can bite you, and they’re just like “O-M-G” and they’ll be trying to fix it for at least a few hours. Fix a few UV lights in the ladies room and you basically have yourself a vampire oven.
