Xbox Game Pass August update adds 7 more games: Dead Rising 3, Dirt Rally, Limbo, more

Xbox Game Pass will soon add seven new titles to the library.

When the service was announced in June, Microsoft promised there would be at least five new games added monthly.

Like the July update, the new August offerings will total seven.

  • Dead Rising 3 (Xbox One)
  • Dirt Rally(Xbox One)
  • Limbo(Xbox One)
  • Metal Slug XX (Xbox One)
  • Pharaonic (Xbox One)
  • So Many Me (Xbox One)
  • Ultratron (Xbox One)

Dirt Rally is one of the most popular entries in the Dirt series, so its inclusion is a nice surprise, especially if you enjoy racing games - or have yet to play it.

Dead Rising 3 and Limbo need no introductions, as both have been around for what seems ages.

The same can be said regarding the arcade shooter series Metal Slug, so if you like the chaotic franchise, you'll probably enjoy Metal Slug XX as well. If you need an introduction to the series, Metal Slug 3 is already available as part of the Xbox Games Pass library.

Indie platformers So Many Me and Ultratron are also two new additions. The former tasks players with cloning their cute, cuddly selves to solve three puzzles per level. Puzzles will become more challenging as the game progresses. The platform shooter, Ultratron finds the player swarmed by "ill-tempered robots," and should the player die, they will have to start over again.

Luckily, the in-game money collected can be used to build up powers, and aid in health regeneration. Both are already available for PC, and the Steam crowd seems to like both rather well.

Another indie title is Pharaonic from Milk Stone Studios. The side-scrolling combat-RPG is set in Ancient Egypt where players must fight all sorts of baddies to "find the truth behind Ahmosis I, the Red Pharaoh." The game has a very positive rating on Steam, so you might want to give it a go.

All seven titles will be added to the Xbox Game Pass on August 1.
