Update brings Mechwarrior Online 12-on-12 battles

Mechwarrior Online will probably reach 1.0 in about five weeks, and today the game hit an important milestone on the way to that goal: 12-on-12 competitive multiplayer matches. The press release about this calls the 24-player battles "true-to-MechWarrior combat," so that's good. Meanwhile, players will now get double xp for their first win each day, Meanwhile, on Thursday at 1pm PT you can watch Total Biscuit and Angry Joe blast each other in-game on their respective YouTube channels.
